We are happy to help

Feeling curious or looking for interesting facts?
Here you will find answers to all sorts of possible questions!

At what time can we check in?

You can check in and enter the building from 15h.
Don't forget to bring the deposit in cash. Without a deposit, you will not be allowed access to the buildings. If you check in after 7pm, we charge a cost of €50 per started hour for mobilising a staff member.

Can we have food orders delivered?

You can, but only after you have checked in. Before check-in, we cannot yet provide access to the fridges or freezers. So make sure the delivery takes place after 15h if it happens on the day of check-in. A person in charge of the group must be present for this. Horizon cannot accept deliveries on behalf of the group.

What do we have to clean?

With the self-catered formula, you are responsible for cleaning the kitchen yourself. We expect you to leave it in the same state as when you started using it. In the halls, we ask you to clean the tables and chairs and stack them in the appropriate places. You will also be responsible for sweeping the bedrooms and halls and collecting rubbish bins.

What should we do with our waste?

We ask you NEVER to leave rubbish bags outside during your stay because of the seagulls.

Residual waste: Place all residual waste in transparent bin bags (bags available at reception). Horizon has an underground container where you can deposit these bags. Horizon also pays for this waste by weight and therefore charges €3/bag.

No rubbish bags should be left behind. If they are, there will be an extra charge of €12.50. We do not collect food waste seperately, these must be put in the bags for the rest of the waste.

PMD: PMD waste must be deposited in regulation bags provided by the municipality. You can get these bags at the reception of Horizon at € 0.50/piece. Bring your PMD bags to the reception and we will make sure they are collected on time.

No PMD bags should be left behind. If they are, there will be an extra charge of € 12.50.

Cardboard: You should collect cardboard. Horizon also has a container for this. You can dispose of cardboard in that container free of charge.

Glass: Horizon does not have a glass container. There is a glass container in Koerslaan and a glass container at the intersection Kapelstraat/Klemskerkestraat. The group is responsible for this. If glass or empties are left behind, there will be an extra charge of €12.50.

What is available in the kitchen?

The inventory lists can be found on ‘The Self-Catering Kitchens’ page.

What should we bring ourselves?

Check the inventory list carefully beforehand. And don't forget: bring kitchen towels, dish rags, a sponge, a mop and cleaning products to leave the kitchen clean when you leave. Brushes and squeegees are available in the building.

At what time should we leave the building?

On the day of departure, we ask that the rooms be emptied in the morning, this can be at 9am or 10am.
You can still use the hall and kitchen until 2pm.
